Not for a 3-5-2 in my opinion. None of them have the defensive workrate that Vidal has. Granted, Arturo's offensive capabilities have slipped a little in the last 18 months, and his passing was never good, but his defensive workrate was absolutely top notch for this club.

Asamoah is possibly the best suited to fill in for Vidal (they need someone with a true defensive backbone in that midfield lineup) but who knows when the hell he is coming back. Same for Khedira

Khedira defensively is different, but not inferior imo.

I said 'quality remains unreplaced', not 'vidal remains unreplaced'. If the board intended to replace Vidal they wouldn't have sold him. We tried to raise funds for a much needed position but ended up with smalltime transfers that don't justify a sacrifice like Vidal. Should have shifted every penny of the fee plus 15-20mil towards Isco-kind of players.
