Draxler could join Juventus for €25 million - agent

The Germany international appears to be on his way to the Serie A champions and his agent is optimistic the deal will go through for a fee well below his exit clause

Julian Draxler's representative believes an offer in the region of €25 million would be enough for Juventus to lure his client away from Schalke this summer.

The Serie A champions are desperate to add a creative midfielder to their squad ahead of the 2015-16 campaign and have earmarked Draxler as the perfect addition.

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici recently travelled to Germany to iron out a deal and Schalke's Horst Heldt admitted on Tuesday that the Bundesliga side have given Juventus permission to open talks with the 21-year-old.

Draxler has a €45m buyout clause in his current contract with Schalke, but his agent is confident €25m will be enough to seal the deal, stressing the minimum fee release clause is no longer valid at this stage.

"It is true that his €45m release clause expired on June 30," Wittman was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

"This is also the expiry date for the next two seasons as the player has a contract until June 2018.

"But it is also true that we are in talks with Juventus over a transfer.

"I think the deal could be concluded for a transfer fee of €25 million."

Draxler is a product of the Schalke youth academy and has made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for the Gelsenkirchen side so far.

Wait, this seems backwards to me. Doesn't the club have to accept an offer before you have permission to negotiate with the player?
You always have to be given permission by the club to officially speak to the player, although plenty of clubs go through agents now to get ideas.

Thanks for the post, wow Draxler had solid numbers for 3 seasons. Looks much better to me now
Yeah,he was improving and getting better before the injury slowed him down.
Let's hope it's behind him,and he'll be a great player for us ;)

I don't know...He played 800 minutes last season and only got 2 goals and 1 assist in a league that plays pretty openly.
:sergio:
You can't look for stats in his last season.just not fair.
But he was injured for half a year, and played like 6-7 full games, the rest were 20/30 min after the injury just to come back to fitness.

This are his previous season numbers:
Draxler:
11/12: 18yrs - 46Games:5G,9A first full season with first team
12/13: 19yrs - 39Games:13G,7A
13/14: 20yrs - 38Games:6G,10A

He's still 21yrs,and for a kid had good numbers.

these are Reus numbers btw in that age:
Reus:
07/08: 18yrs - not with the first team
08/09: 19yrs - 28Games:4G,3A first full season with first team
09/10: 20yrs - 35Games:8G,4A

Reus and Draxler can be fairly compaired imo, play the same position,LW and sometimes AM.
