2-3 years ago I thought he would have established himself as one of the best players of his age group by now, injuries withstanding. I think he would flourish here under Imperatore Max, and would love to see him in black and white. I like this kids direct playing style and versatility. I think he'd absolutely kill it playing with our forwards.

In saying that, Beppe's apprehension in paying what Schalke are asking for is entirely justified. €30 million is a princely sum for a player who did not manage to compete in more than 10 games the season prior. If reports are to be believed, the most I would consider paying is €20 million + €10 million in performance/ appearance related bonuses. If Schalke refuse, I wont begrudge management for walking away from negotiations. We are extending ourselves interms of liability for a player who could either take us to another level or, someone who might firmly entrench himself in our injury list.

I fucking hate 3-5-2. That shit should be banned by FIFA. Its a torture for the fans, players and any poor soul that watches a football game with a team using 3-5-2.

Visions of terror.

Schalke general manager Horst Heldt, confirmed once more that after the first, rejected last July, Juventus has not advanced further offers for Draxler

Another episode of the soap opera Julian Draxler . The general manager of Schalke 04 , Horst Heldt has confirmed once more that the rumors that come from Italy about new offers from the Juventus midfielder is baseless.
"We received an offer for Julian Draxler we refused - said Heldt, referring to the offer of Juventus last July, on the sidelines of a press conference today - And it's well known. Since then, we have not received any other offers. All that the Italian media have recently reported it has never happened . "
Heldt points out that there is an agreement with Draxler for which the club would let him leave if an offer came deemed appropriate ... " With Julian we have a verbal agreement, made in 2013 when we extended the contract - explained yet Heldt - If this argument will return to the surface I will have to talk with Julian again. I will not take anything for granted until 31 August, but nevertheless Schalke has no plans to sell Julian Draxler underpriced ".
"Apart from the possible offer - said Heldt - you always have a chance to make the right decisions, there is always a time when you are no longer able to find a replacement. And at that time I will take a unilateral decision . That will be the time when the oral agreement with Draxler will no longer be valid. But we have not gotten to that point."
