He came to Europe last year, that's why you don't know him well (Who's following Bologna anyway?). He's only 20 and most say that he had a very good season. From the few matches I've seen of him I only noticed that he's pretty slow and that he was given lots of freedom in his play by Bologna's coach. He's an attacking midfielder.

Vargas is the safest bet. At least he has defensive qualities. If we got young/potential players, i can see a conservative coach benching them pretty quickly for a Vidal/Marchisio.
