Absolutely crazy how this guy (or anyone we're interested in serie A) being marketed as some top top talent.

I find it really odd how we keep going back to these shiit Italian clubs every season just for them to screw us up again and again and again !!
agreed. Not saying we shouldnt sign him, but where has that pricetag come from?

He hasn't proven anything in Serie A, so he'd be just as risky as another talent straight out of South America or Eastern Europe, who would be much cheaper.
How he hasn't proven anything? A newly promoted Verona stays in Serie A comfortably and even fought for EL at some point. He's one of the reasons they did so well. Iturbe, Jorginho and Toni were their most important players. 8 goals and 5 assists in 33 matches is pretty good considering he's 21 and it was his first season in Serie A. Sanchez at his age didn't do any better.

Sanchez took his time and is only now he's world class... if Iturbe takes even 2 years to reach that level it's still not good enough for Juve, by then there will be no Pirlo, no Buffon, no Barzagli, probably no Lichtsteiner or Tevez either, new problems to fix. and if the success don't follow and Juve are not recognised among the best in the world then Pogba or Vidal might also want a transfer, it will be too late imo.

We can't sign WC players so I don't see your point. If we wait a year or two for him it'll be too late already. Just like with Sanchez. Our squad is ageing but you won't fix that by signing even more old 'proven' players. That's why younger players are being brought in right now so they have time to improve under out vets and take over when the time comes. We need to sign younger players because we can't go on like this any more. Signing established players costs us too much and requires selling many of them quite early because they get worn out fast.

I don't see how any Winger will help us when Licht and Barzagli are finished, so it's not a good argument.

We can't drop 40M for 1 player because we're comparatively broke, so it's either this or we stack up on free agents.

Iturbe named as ''top talent'' years now when he was in Argentina and played for ''Under-- teams''. He has show his skills and talent. This year for Verona was the climax of his development. He is 21 years old and nobody now can question his talent. He needs to gain experience in a class team. He needs a step over for his career.

Verona know we don't have many options....for some reason unlike the past, we like to tell the world who we are going after. It makes us vulnerable when we choose players like Sanchez who are out of our price range. We make stupid first time offers that never get accepted then when push comes to shove, we turn towards lower Serie A teams to find what we need and we end up overpaying for players who are not at a Sanchez level.

The good old Moggi days would be..."we are going to sign Cerci from torino then on the last day we bring in Sanchez"...now we had more money back then of course, but at least his dealings were discreet.

Back to Iturbe....I think we should give it a go...we need a player with his characteristics and under conte I think he can take his game to the next level. We really cant afford any players above him in talent.

Shame we keep looking within the Serie A. We used to sign quite a few foreign players, now we get the shitty ones from the Serie A
