It was me! :p

Iturbe is 4.5 years younger than Sanchez and is more of a winger than Sanchez. Also will have lower wages surely.

Another bonus is that he's a RW that is left footed. It's a bit more rare to find those players.

He's very hard-working and talented. It's possible Iturbe over Sanchez could be a smarter move for the years after next.
Definitely. As for now Sanchez is the better choice but it's not like we're allowed to choose. It's either Iturbe or someone like Cerci/Biabiany.

But we need players who could impact the team immediately. Sanchez would , not Iturbe.
But there's not enough money for Sanchez. Latest rumors say Barca want 40m for Sanchez. Do you think Juve should pay that much? They can demand such a sum and I'm pretty sure Arsenal/MU/Liverpool will pay close to that. It's not like we had any chance. We can't buy players like Sanchez and Cuadrado so there's only one way to have a player like them - produce one. I personally think the kid will be a very good investment he's made huge progress throughout the season.

I'm really not convinced by Iturbe, it's weird but I have a bad feeling about it. He's got a lot of conditions and things on his favor. But still I feel that he would be a bad move.

But if he's the best we can aspire, then so be it.

Obviously it's a gamble. Depends how much can we reduce the price by players included.

Roma's offer for Iturbe

12-13mln + Marquinho + Ucan on loan (Roma is supposed to loan him for 4mln, so I don't know how will this turn out as he can't be loaned while being on loan, no? So I guess Roma will give Verona money to loan him).

Don't see Verona accepting that lame offer.

They wanted Marquinho. Ucan is a hot prospect who costs around 15mln, so I don't think it's a bad offer.

I don't see Juve offer being above 15mln either, while we don't have any quality player(s) to offer them, just some rejects.

Yeah well they clearly bought him outright to make a decent profit so, I wouldn't be surprised to see them hang onto him for another season.

I high doubt that will happen, it's a too big gamble for a club like Verona, since they are in a position to get around 20-25mln for him this summer. IMO they will take a chance and it's going to be one of Juve, Roma or Milan as his destination.

As for me personally, I find our interest in Iturbe kinda strange. He doesn't look like our typical transfer, or is it just me? Sanchez and his profile make sense, though. However I'm not surprised Roma wants him.

Nope, I was surprised as well. I suppose right now it's about lining up options & making sure contact has been initiated with as many of the possible targets. IMO Garcia will do wonders with Iturbe.

Agreed, Garcia would make a monster out of Iturbe.

Paratici and Sogliano met in Milan to talk about Iturbe. 2-4 players got discussed, Giovinco, Quagliarella, Burchel & Peluso - Romeo Agresti

Our typical transfer? Maybe that's exactly what the club needs is someone that ISN"T our typical transfer.

I think the time of buying bargains that are versatile (padoin/peluso, caceres etc) is over and only should happen when rebuilding or an aging bench player needs replaced.

Iturbe is extremely quick with strong ball control: much better with the ball at his feet than Llorente but faster than Tevez and seems hard working as well. Can play on either side left or right. Personally, I've always preferred shopping in Italy for its stars rather than abroad because we know them and see them more often as a club. Club's might charge us more in Italy but at least we can use our own players to lower the price. I can't see Real Madrid taking Peluso and Quag to bring a price down but I do see Verona doing that.

It's frustrating seeing the top talent in Italy leave (Veratti, Pastore, Lavezzi, Sanchez, etc).

This is when it is okay to spend 15m or so on a player. He is young and could explode to be a great winger.

We tend to be to safe with the transfers and we want assurance that the player will do a good job.

In the past few days 3 reports and each suggest different club to be 'in pole position'

Hopefully we get him. We're the wealthiest and can offer a few interesting players and also are the best destination for the player IMO.

Iturbe is a pure winger, I don't really see how he would fit in the 3-5-2, and I don't see Conte trying another Giovinco by forcing him into a central SS role.

This transfer would be the biggest of the past few years, so I'm assuming he'd be a starter. For that to work we need a couple of more players, most importantly oother wingers, something I don't see our budget capable of pulling off.

I don't think the transfar really makes sense or that it will happen.
