We are offering a 2+1 extension for a lower salary 4m instead of the 5 he currently earns. A bit risky imo as he’s turning 34 this May, I would’ve preferred 1+1, but at least we are reducing his salary.

2+1 is good, I wouldn't even mind keeping him at his current salary if he doesn't accept a wage cut, he deserves it more than most. He has at least 2 seasons of top level football in him and we can decide after that if he's in it for 1 more. There's barely a couple of full-backs that can be considered better than him, and look at Dani Alves, still playing for Barca at a high level at 38 years old.
