So he got a good relation with a previous coach.

What is to be upset about tbh

- - - Updated - - -

Its not like Roma is a big team or rival anyway
I dont think the pic is even real. Cuad probably had it photoshopped onto the locker as a joke to wind up Pjanic. If Cuad did this on purpose and made it look like it was by accident then its hilerious . If not then aye no big deal and still kinda funny.

Him and dybala looked disconnected. The one time pjaca actually cuts in making a diagonal run and he scores. It's almost like Porto had cuadrado man marked but didn't have a clue who pjaca was. Either way expected better from cuadrado.

His decision making and lack of endproduct is holding him back. In our new formation you get a lot of chances to score / assist and Cuadrado is lacking this. I am sure it will not take long and Pjaca will take his place. Cuadrado is not a typical winger for me, but more a right-mid or right-back. Great versatile player to have tbh, so we need him as back-up and rotation player.

I have always had mixed feelings about this guy. He could be devastating on the counter when we face strong sides in the Champions League but how many games a season do we play were we need a player like this over someone with better end product and decision making? These games are rare and whilst Cuadrado is a nice extra option to have for them i'm not sure those few occurrences necessitate him having a place in the squad over other players who are more suitable for a majority of our games. He should, at most, be the backup option for RW not the starter.

Please just look at him as a defender first and you will be happy.

You are already ahead of the opposition if you have a winger who can be constantly attacking and defending, even if sometimes the attacking decisions are questionable.

Well he was ideal for a 3-5-2 but we don't need two defenders on one side in the 4-2-3-1. Like I said, aside from the handful of games where we will be constantly defending, he isn't that useful to this team anymore.

We need 11 defenders for all our games. People tend to get too caught up with short term form. Cuadrado is a really good player who fits the team well, he's just inconsistent with his attacking play.

At least he makes stuff happen and is fun to watch. The hatred he gets from people on here is ridiculous.
Rich man's Krasic

On the real, though totally agree. I love his flair and fancy, he was just having a stinker until that cross.

He gets stick because he's inconsistent and hugely annoying and frustrating because of it. But I suppose many such players are, wingers are often like this. Maybe we should stop getting annoyed when you know the next time he gets the ball could be a wonder goal, run or assist. I guess it makes up for the headless runs, poor choices and crosses to nothing. He's a percentage player and everything he does depends on how things fall at that moment.

As soon as he gets the ball there are like 2-3 around or near him ready for him to make a fancy run. I don't think he did that bad, it's just we played way too often down that right hand side that it became predictable for empoli. He does make some bad decisions but no way in hell is he a krasic.

Krasic was far more one-dimensional and had even less awareness. Plus he was mentally a lot weaker than Cuadrado, who plays the same way no matter how many times he messes up.

To me it only matters if he produces something, not whether his percentage is high. 1 assist in 20 crosses is the same to me as 1 assist in 5 crosses. He runs to get the ball back. He runs to get into these positions. It's good enough for me.

He fits our tactics like a glove. You won't get many wingers who are happy to play right back and cover so for that this guy suits us well even though at times yes it can be frustrating but you can't have best of both worlds.

It matters in more difficult games, not as much ones like this. For instance his contribution against Lyon was absolute clutch. But like you say, he is often creating a lot of these spaces for himself.
