Marotta delivered some amazing results this summer. I want a good LWB addition badly but will not jump up and down if we can't get Zuniga this time. We'll see how it goes. They say patience is a virtue.

6m for a player on his last year is not great especially cause its zuniga. Tevez was great. Zuniga should only cost around 3-4 because of his contract situation

Should cost 3-4 million , but won't because of who they are dealing with.

The prevelant thought should be if Zuniga is worth the 6 million, irrespective of the contract status.

I'll let @Klin answer that. :D

So we're supposed to be buying this guy to... bench a recently purchased 18M Asa, or to put a 5M Peluso in the stands? Or we're going to sell Isla after a season where he was still recovering from the knee, and then buy Zuniga to back up Licht (That would be a significant embarrassment for BM; what kind of forethought does that demonstrate, if BM buys a player coming directly off a major knee injury for big money, and then sells him at a loss after 1 season where he played 10 games, or whatever? To Inter of all teams?)? Or is Zuniga just a general WB depth signing?

He's a good player, he can play both flanks, but Zuniga is nothing special. If the club hadn't made the recent purchases, I'd be for this move, but I don't think it's necessary at this time. I would wait and see what's up with the midfield after this season, and also how Asamoah continues to grow into that LWB position. Guy has only played there for a year, he's only 24. Bit premature to say that he can't continue to grow at that spot, but if the development isn't there, then Juve invests in a dedicated LWB a year from now, and moves Asa back into the middle.

I guess we'll see what happens, but clearly Beppe needs to focus on making a few sales before adding more players to the roster.

We're looking to offload at least Quag,Dc,Ziegler,Motta.
But all the reports and rumors indicate we are after at least 1 more player to our wings.
It will give us options & healthy competition.
Maybe Peluso will see less playing time, but that's the price your paying with a deep and quality squad.

Yeah, we're looking to offload more than just those guys :D But didn't those rumours about adding another WB also correlate to another rumour, that made it sound as though Isla to Inter was a done deal? Sure doesn't sound like that deal is on now, not after what Beppe said.

Still a bunch of pruning to do on this squad, no doubt about that.

Even for €6M, he'd be a great signing Serge. He would help us a lot.

Zuniga is much better offensively, though not as good defensively. He won't solve all our problems, but no other €6M LWBs would.

i dont have much faith in a player that has to stop shift his body around use his opposite foot to send a cross to solve our offensive needs.

the real problem is the market for wing backs in general is quite poor. conte really put himself in an awkward position here when he decided to use it as a primary formation
