He's good and could look even better in a good team. Man City have been looking at him, amongst others, some crazy prices mentioned (£16m) but we could get far less with a couple of 'piggy banks' (to quote Moggi) thrown in, like Paolucci.

Have I missed the part where Giovinco is a great player? Very talented, yes, but rarely fit and hasn't exactly blew people away when he has played? His main problem is his lack of strength, but on the wing he should do better.

Pepe and Martinez aren't any better; in fact, in terms of skill and talent they are inferior to Giovinco. Hence, what is the point of splashing out money on mediocre replacements/subs when we already have someone better in our ranks?

There is a reason why Giovinco was regarded as one of the finest talents just a few years ago. He was even one of the stars in last summers U21 championship. The problem is, we haven't even given him the chance to fail. I would be totally fine with it if they gave him a proper chance and he failed but that haven't happened yet. Just give him a chance, if he's a total disappointment then fine, send him off, but until then, there is no reason at all to just give up on him.

I agree we shouldn't give up on him, but to say he is better than guys who have proven themselves in that position is too early, even if they haven't put on the Juve shirt yet.

Gio has usually shined when he has been given a chance. I just wish our management would judge him based on his performances and not his size. It seems like he can play 3 great games in a row and then if he plays one worse game he's immediately dismissed.

Also i consider him being a lot better on the wings than in the "trequartista" role.
