I don't know why people trash Zebina so much. Sure, his best matches for us were when he had Thuram and Cannavaro to the left, but he still did well in other years. He's not the most solid player out there defensively but he does provide us something going forward on the flank. That's far more than our other backs can provide.

Let's not glorify the doofus that is Zebina only because he's been absent for a while and Grygera sucks. He is still a liability, he is still mentally weak and he is due to cost us more points over the course of a season than what Grygera is.

Actually, he is able to keep it together most of the times when he has Chiellini and Buffon to lean against. So until the board realizes signing two new fullbacks is an absolute must, that should be the better option.
