Juventus Football Club has extended its contract with Jonathan Zebina for two further years: the agreement, which runs out in June 2009, has been prolonged until 30th June 2011.
Sport manager Alessio Secco stated:"The agreement with Zebina proves Juventus is committed to setting up a competitive team for the coming season. We can count on Jonathan to play a fundamental role bringing stability to our defense: a result which, added to the choice of our new coach, allows us to look at the future with renewed confidence."
Both parties are satisfied with the agreement, the player said:"I'm honoured by the fact that my contract with Juventus has been extended. After a long and difficult season - he added - it was important to set the basis for a future which will be full of rewarding sporting moments. To wear the black and white shirt for the next four years is a great result, and I'm sure that with my team mates we'll achieve important objectives, both in Italy as in Europe. It's not just a professional choice: the club, the team, the new coach and the city have persuaded me this was the right choice".
Jonathan Zebina was born in Paris on 19th July 1978. After completing his experience with Cannes' youth sector, he arrived in Italy in '98 and played two seasons for Cagliari. In 2000 he transferred to Roma which he left in 2004 to join Juventus. Clad in black and white he has attended 57 Championship matches, 8 games in Champions League and 4 in Coppa Italia. Zebina is among the players summoned to play for the French national team.
