Juventus keen on Joaquin
Friday 23 December, 2005
Juventus are considering making a bid for Spanish midfield starlet Joaquin, according to reports in Italy.

The Bianconeri have been monitoring the progress of the Real Betis star for some time but have been put off by an asking price of £21m.

In fact, the 24-year-old’s has a £41m minimum release fee built into his contract, which expires in 2010, but it is thought that the Seville-based club are said to be willing to do business for around £14m following the winger’s loss of form.

The Spaniard, who was recently dropped from Luis Aragones’ national team, is highly rated by Juve Coach Fabio Capello and has also attracted the interest of a number of other clubs, including Fiorentina.

Should Joaquin - who has managed just one goal so far this season - move to Turin in the summer, Juve may propose a part-exchange deal involving Adrian Mutu, who has found first-team appearances hard to come by at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

I prefer keeping Mutu over Joaquin. We're more covered on the right than on the left IMO. We should defo find someone to replace Neddy.

Marchionni will be available on a free this summer? :excited: He would be an excellent back-up for Camoranesi at right wing.

Right on!! and TBH i'm not that impressed with joaquin either...let's keep camo and get marchionni/gasbarroni as backup and we'll be just fine :D

Love Joaquin, can't see how we could find use of him now though. Ive only seen him to the right, and I consider Camoranesi the best right wing in the world.

best right mid in the world!
Do you not thing that is a bit overrated??

I thing he has the skills but he is not fast enough and when the gam not goes how he would like to have he play like he played when he was sub in and sub out 20 min later 2 times in one week...

Actually it might sound crazy but I think Camo has what it takes to play behind the strikers (altough I would prefer someone else for this job) otherwise I can see Joaquin join us only instead of Camo which I rate very high and I don`t want him to leave
So about Joaquin I hope it won`t happen and it is just a a smokescreen for Aimar or other creative playmaker who can play behind the strikers or a left winger which could replace Nedved (I can`t think about anyone who is world class except Nedved himself)

No i do not, not at all. He doesn't make bad games anymore, perfect crosses, doesn't lose the ball, works hard. About him being lousy when the game aint going he's way, are you kidding? He's been perhaps our most consistent player for like one and a half year now.
