To be fair, a lot of other members still believe that too.
True. Nostalgia does funny things. Buffon was still a fantastic keeper for us for the past several seasons. Incredible really.

But this past season was the first with very noticeable signs of decline, unfortunate as that is.

 at the Europa League comment. That’s typical pitbull. Worst football opinions than Fr3sh.
I think it was when he was trying to argue that Pogba and ManU had a more successful (or at least as successful) season than we did in 16-17.

He also thinks Europa League is bigger trophy than the league titles in the big 4 leagues. :mut:

Oh... and Buffon is still in his prime. :touched:
can you please back that up with some quotes? because I don't remember saying any of those things and I don't think them either

Ok so I was wrong. You’re not a contrarian, you’re just routinely wrong with your football opinions. Duly noted :baus:
Everyone is wrong with their football opinions time after time, especially if we're talking about thousands of posts, loads of things wrong there probably. What's strange is that you and your buddy need to make up stuff, surely there's plenty of stuff I've actually said that's wrong and funny.

Sorry, I was wrong. It's not bigger than La Liga. But bigger than EPL, BL, and Serie A.

Your words:
Downplay EL all you want, but at least in paper its the third strongest competition after La Liga and CL. If Mourinho hadnt won it the season would be a disaster, but,now they have their first real trophy since Ferguson and are going to play in CL, Id say thats a success.

Your words:
not surprised you somehow didn't manage to bold the part that says "on paper". as in, the teams that play in EL on paper make a stronger competition than any of EPL, BL or Serie A has to offer. the starting 11s and their commitment on pitch is another thing though.

Griezmann is up for Ballon d'Or this year and his 2nd biggest argument after being the leader of France in winning the World Cup is being the leader of Atletico in winning the EL. as much as people want it to be a joke trophy like Carling Cup, it actually is a respectable trophy.

Still on about this. On paper is entirely irrelevant if the big teams treat it like a mickey mouse cup. So let's not be absurd. What's the point of even saying "on paper" in this context. Trophies aren't competed for "on paper". We live in the real world.

And no team in any of the top 4 leagues would ever choose to win EL over the league.

Which means it's a mickey mouse cup.

Mourinho himself spent 6 months trashing Europa and saying it's meaningless and an annoyance that season until he realized his team couldn't finish top 4 in the league and only then he tried to make out like EL was a big deal.

I'm sorry but that Europa title we hosted and lost in the most retarded fashion still hurts, huge huge huge fuckup and will forever be a dark spot in our history.
I will never forget.

We criticise Berna for nit showing up in these pre season friendlies but on the other hand, soneone should say to Cancelo to calma thr fuck down because playing friendlies with great intensity can get you injured in whatbis the most important period of getting into a nice fitness level. Id rather we loose all friendlies and have a healthy squad to fight when it matters than see a player play his heart out only to get injured for 2-3 months or even longer.

Benfica learned this the hard way yesterday.

A shit league where two times CL finalists were pushed till the end by league runners up which happened in none of the other top leagues. K.
