its more of a stop over to australasia.

wanted to travel through the islands to singapore - if you have any suggestions then i am all ears.
ermm , traveling and exploring to whole Indonesia's islands would take you a decade , but if you meant Singapore , well its a pretty tiny island but very good place overall , with the super convenient public transports , you probably only need less than 2 weeks to explore the whole country completely .

I found it oppressive, stupidly humid, and yeah, the people are like robots and frankly annoying in how they speak in both languages. Are you ethnically Indonesian? Maybe it was just a bad couple of days :D

Oppressive ? really ?
:lol2:
no one beats Singlish to be honest , and since i was graduated from Taiwan and technically speak proper Chinese i found the way their speak Chinese is funny not really a proper Chinese in the term of their intonation :D no offense to any Singaporean on forum though :D

im Chinese born Indonesia , mate ;)

The way they speak English is funny too, simplistic and a bit childish, like some Japanese girls do. I found it oppressive mostly because of a few individuals who obviously didn't appreciate my look, also because of the strict way in which they uphold minor laws, I haven't noticed that so much anywhere else tbh (I haven't been the the Gulf :D). The nightlife was entertaining though. I think my image of Singapore is tainted really.

Yea, you can be imprisoned for putting gum on the street.
All travellers should be aware of local laws, but it's very easy to forget that if you are spending any time on the move.

been there, done that. smoked the weed, laughed at the prostitutes, drank grolsch, heard the dutch power ballads, got the official 'gay map' of amsterdam.

is there anything else to do there?
You sure you visit the right Amsterdam? Grolsch? Dutch power ballads? Gay map?
That's just a tiny bit of Amsterdam you visited, anyway there is loads more to do man. Anyway enjoy the trip always a good thing to travel for clearing up your head.

I just wanna say that I'm glad Jasper lightened up here. I remember some time ago, he was so anal about everything. Maybe it was the lack of smiley usage, but his posts always seemed like he was upset or angry about everything!

Stay away from Tahir. He'll get you drunk and circle you around in a car while you attempt to hold your intestines within you and discuss history with a Latin guy.

seeing the world, learning about things i don't know, meeting new people.

When i said that, i was talking about places like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman etc. on the arab peninsula. I know Kuwait/Lebanon etc. offer different things, And i haven't pulled that out of the air, its what i have been told by people that have gone to places like Qatar, Dubai etc.
Cool that you'll be travelling around, if i ever get enough money, i want to do that too

as for Dubai, well you'd really enjoy the place if you were into shopping and malls and all that shit, but since you're not a chick, or you arent coming with a chick, you probably wouldn't want that :D

When is Vegas???? That's the only part of your trip that I'm interested in :D

Also, how much are you gonna pay for all of this? It sounds like an expensive trip!
