James Rodriguez’s representative admits that Serie A giants Juventus have put negotiations for the Banfield midfielder on hold.

There were suggestions last month that Juve had already signed the talented 18-year-old Colombian and were prepared to loan him out to Chievo for the 2010-11 season.

But agent Bruno Carpeggiani insisted that a deal was nowhere near completion, and, asked about the latest developments, he told Tuttomercatoweb: “I am still waiting for news from Juve. I have not heard from them anymore.

“The Argentine league will come to an end in two weeks' time and I will go there.”

Our scout that found him Renzo Castagnini is getting sacked, this deal could be over
From my understanding, our South American scouts have been good, just the board / Secco have never acted.

Missing out on such talent due to the flapping about of the board....I thought Secco's sole job was to secure talent and sell it for as much as possible.

Castagnini is our head scout who will, apparently, be replaced by Paratici.

Thanks for the info, but that does not change anything, Secco's is the man jobbed with the transfers, all the scout is responsible for is recommending the talent. Secco should be aware of him already and if he was any sort of pro would appreciate his skills deeming him a suitable transfer.

Since we have no manager, Secco could make the point of this talent to Agnelli and push the move through... but that would be expecting a pro to be doing the job.

I'm begining to remember why I left...the Juve board are still a joke.

Secco (and Bettega too) probably knows that he's about to be sacked.

What talents have Sampdoria discovered? Honestly, this team is just a one season thing. Suddenly we're getting their manager, their scouts, their director, their strikers, their fullbacks. Its as if they've just won the Champions League.

Agreed. Samp have been a flash in the pan. Two attacking wingers and two talented strikers are always going to get you somewhere.

Bruno Fornaroli
Vincenzo Fiorillo
Andrea Poli
Guido Marilungo
Salvatore Foti
Foti has been at the club for years, not one of the regime's talents.

Marilungo has got some serious talent, but again was about Samp before this regime.

Fiorillo is unproven between the sticks

Poli is one of theirs but is not exactly world class.

The underlining factor is that none of these players are seriously top draw youngsters. Gio and Claudio are far far far the more talented players in relation to the Samp counterparts.
