Jacques Faty (born 25 February 1984 in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, France) is a French footballer of Senegalese descent. http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/65352.html]

He was a product of the well-known Rennes Centre of Formation. Faty's primary position is central defence but he has also been fielded at right back and midfield.

In 2001, he captained France's FIFA U-17 World Championship squad to a first-place finish. Faty is a regular starter of the French U-21 international squad. He recently took part in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship held in Portugal where the French finished as losing semi-finalists.

Faty has announced his desire to leave Rennes, with a host of Premiership clubs chasing for his signature.
