No disrespect towards the Bundesliga but packed stadiums doesn't mean a damn thing nowadays. One of the main reasons why the EPL is what it is today is because of TV coverage. TV brings in more money than jersey sales and ticket sales in most cases.

If the argument about packed stadiums is used then how come leagues in south america and mexico aren't on top of serie a? those matches are over capacitated and with the logic of the article would shoot them to rival the EPL. Complete bull shit.
Indeed. Good post.

the thing is, bundesliga model themselves on epl. that should attract money. and we all saw what money can do. pre 1999 english football was miles behind serie a. now it's miles ahead. in a disgusting way, i might add, but life is life
The Bundesliga doesn't have language on its side. The English Premiership does though.

Be sure to add quotes around English, too, because the only thing English about it is the language used in it's commentary.

but worse than 10 years ago.
and they're only better because fiorentinas, napolis and lazios were brought back to life. if those tycoons would leave, they would back where they were 5 years ago.
Where would Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea be? Most football teams are like that now. The EPL is not an example to follow by the way. They did well in England till five years ago, when they started to want too much. Now the entire English football scene is fucked up. I agree, the best football is played in England. But it's not played by Englishmen and it's not even played by English clubs anymore.

You can say a lot about Serie A, but not that it lacks spirit. And that's where the problem of the Bundesliga lies. They can invest and invest till they have stable and well run football clubs, but there's no passion. The only goddamn club anyone could support is Bayern. There's no history to the Bundesliga. There haven't been as many epic clashes in the Bundesliga as there have in the Premier League or the Serie A.

Let's face it: Germany is right up there with France. They have a good, sensible football competition. Serie A's mad and that's why we love it.

I think if you look at the number from stadium revenues you will see a difference. But other than that, I don't really know. It's thought provoking and all, but where the stats to back up the claim? We all know Serie A attendance has been slow, but show us the money capitan.

I wish the fellow would have posted some numbers or something. Channel4 is looking as if it could join the ranks of Goal.com pretty soon.

That's up to opinion and nothing else.

You could say England has the league with the best teams, but not the best football. That's in the eye of the beholder.
exactly

but don't forget its also about exposure. in america the only exposure of soccer is the EPL, thus leading to all the douche bags and their whore mothers wearing man u gear.

if you keep telling people something and restrict them from knowing anything outside of it then sooner or later they will start believing it

Italian football is on the verge of self distruction: one of its many problem being it's inability or will to tackle facist infiltation in stadiums. They are just a couple of significant international insident that would see them banned from European competitions.
I know many good fans in italy who now find many matches to threatening and revolting to take their families too. Until the have the courage to face their problems, indeed they could well fall behind other European leagues as they will fail to attract overseas investment and fans will increasingly cease to attend matches.

I rather enjoy going matches in Germany as their is a real sense of the fans and clubs being a single entity.

Bianconero,

you're an idiot. There's no other way to put it, you're simply an idiot. You'll take any opinion offered to you by etiquette it seems.

You can't really blame these people because they're ignorant. It's really the media that controls them, if the media wanted to make the Scottish League the greatest league in the world, it would take 5 hours of television to make these baffoons buy Celtic and Ranger jerseys.
