Some quick math that is probably not even accurate:

Let's say the average ticket cost is 65 dollars. Just say for shits and giggles we sell out most of our home games. (65 x 45000=2,925,00p/g)

How many home games a year do we play? Let's say 18 home games

18 x 2925000= 52, 650, 00. just for Serie A home games.

Let's say we play 6 home games for Coppa:
6 x 2925000= 17,555,000m for Coppa home games.

Let's say we play at least 4-5 games for CL/EL assuming we don't pass knockouts:
5 x 29250000= 14,625,000

That's a grand total of :)shocked:) $84,830,000 dollars just for us that does not get paid out to anyone other than taxes. After taxes, not sure what it is in Italy, that is cash in our pocket to do what we please.

Not to mention profits form merchandising, shops at the stadium, marketing, sponsors, etc etc.

:D
I think your income calculations are pretty correct, give and take whatever is there. But you have to have emplluyees, maintenance, and heating and all other sortss of expenses. At full capacity in almost all games, it will be a sound investment. But we might lose money if we average 20k per game.

However, that will not happen since the stadium experience will be so much greater watching from 10m away rather than 60.. This stadium is actually the most important step in the project.

For the sake of italian football i hope other teams follow.

How many great teams have a track between the pitch and the crowd? none. simple as that.

Hope not !!

The last thing we need right now other serie A clubs making more money with the new stadiums and making life even harder on us.

When Italy lost their bid for the Euro's I was pretty glad
Thats a bit shortsighted... its for mutual benefit to improve serie, tv-money, more players will come here etc. We will always be on top of the food chain if we manage things correctly...

A big If here, Some clubs in serie A are already ahead of us when it comes to the Quality of their squads.

Napoli for example started building their team some 4-5 years ago and they're still adding more quality players to the squad every year. They're years ahead of us and the only thing that can cut that gap is :money:.

As for our management, i just don't think we have directors who are smarter than the rest of the league (perhaps we are on bar with them) but certainly not better in that aspect.

Plus clubs (specially those who are directly competing with us for CL spots) are spending "Big".

Napoli for example have spent close to 114 million Euros since they've returned to serie A !! Lazio have signed Zarate last year for 20 mil and Hernanes this summer for 15 millions (not to mention clubs like Fiorentina and Palermo who continue to spend on foreign talents). Roma who already have a competitive team will be brought by some new investor who will start spending to build their team even further.

In short, Italian clubs don't have a serious financial problem right now. The new T.V deal is giving them even more advantage than before.

Believe me the last thing we want right now is for these clubs to be wealthier and to spend more. The "only" real advantage we have right now over them is money, take that away and we will struggle for many years to get back on top of this league.

No matter the general economic level, if we manage poorly we will be behind the other teams. Italy need to be an attractive country in all aspects in order to be competitive. Especially when financial fair play is starting. It is a symbiosys, we have no long term advantage in other teams not having their own stadiums. Furtermore, the more money we get the better games we are gonna watch from the italian league.

Have you noticed the productions in italy are always crap, the system need more money imo.

Incomes from the attendance will be much higher, but wont be the only way to make money out of it. There are a lot of other ways to gain profit from the stadium since now we own it. for example we sold naming right of stadium to SportFive (for a period of 12 years) for 75 million euros.

Thats like 3/4 of the construction cost if Im not mistaken !
