Yet, metallica, Dream Theater, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Rage against the machine have all been influenced by them.


There are so many genres of metal, that you can't just box yourself into one type.

But I don't like most metal so how can I be a metalhead? I'm not close minded as I say I know what I don't like. I've listened to a lot of different types of metal and most of it I don't like. A lot of it is just too cliché

Actually, if you appreciate Prog Rock, Rush is pretty damn awesome.

All of those time changes, complex chords and arrangements that a lot of metal bands use, Rush were one of the first to incorporate that.

That's why I chose Mama Said, which isn't representative of Metallica's style.
