To be fair it's hard to see why Higuain should deserve more than a one match ban. He got two yellow cards and was very disappointed and frustrated when he went off. But if you really look at it from an objective point of view, that's all that happened. He didn't exactly punch the referee in the face or something. The way I saw it that was, at worst, a very slight shove.

Haha, it's so coordinated it's laughable, he mentionned Bonucci atleast 4 times lol. Sarri mentionned him 3 times, who's next?
It's poison. Stuff like this is why Calciopoli happened. In fact it's also why I think Serie A is the fairest league by far. You can't buy a ref in Italy. If a friggin' throw in is assigned to the wrong team, the ref is crucified.

So swearing at a referee, with no physical contact, is worth a 2 game ban, but putting your hands on a referee, which is unallowable in every single sport, is worth only a 1 match ban?

He pushed the ref.. The fact they claim bonucci gave a headbutt says it all.. We could make a printscreen of higuain murdering multiple persons yesterday.. He pushed the ref and went berserk..

I don't care how many matches he'll get.. But the fact they keep claiming bonucci gave a headbutt makes me say: rest of the season and after that he'll hopefully leave Serie a to go to Chelsea or whatever..

Watch a god damn video you bunch of retards.. Bonucci didn't touch the ref.. The ref even said it himself..

That's not what I said at all. Both sides are massively overreacting.
What you are saying is that physically touching a referee in an aggressive manner (and that is what that was), is only worth a 1 match ban, and that is inclusive of his red card received which will ban him anyway. In essence saying that he shouldn't be punished for breaking the cardinal rule in player-official etiquette. And if that is not what you are getting at, then please let me know what you are trying to say.

Still doesn't make you right about 1 game... FIGC and others have been talking for a few years now about the referees being respected and punishing players for swearing at refs, confronting refs, and so on.

What Higuain did was disrespectful and childish, and the comments made after by Sarri and others are reprehensible as well.

According to FIGC's own standards of incidents with the ref this year, Higuain clearly deserves a 3 match ban. It's not even really debatable. He pushed the ref (however lightly), he confronted the player he fouled, he had to be dragged off the pitch by his teammates as he was refusing to leave.

Juve player does this, it's the rest of the season.

What is more troublesome than anything is that other teams are clearly trying to use Bonucci's incident as an example.

The ref that was involved is widely considered to be the best in Italy, and one of the best in the world.

#1) Given his status, he would have no reason to lie. If he said that Bonucci didn't touch him, his cache on the world stage is worth more than what any conspiracy theorist has to say
#2) He would not undermine his own brethren in his field if he were to lie about the situation

Depends on the refs report post the game.
Video evidence is far more conclusive on this than the incident that Napoli is bitching about. And if he only gets a 1 match ban, this sets an awful precedent on how referees are treated going forward in the future.

Mark my words.. He'll get a 1 match ban..
He can't just get a one match ban for this.

This would set an awful precedent in the way the league protects its officials.

:agree:

Not to mention, the actual video shows there is nothing in the slightest resembling a headbutt. Nor is Bonucci caught cursing out the ref, or any other such disrespectful thing.

It's absurd that some fan, taking a good angled still to make it look like Bonucci headbutted the ref, is given this much credit and it's now taken as gospel truth that Bonucci headbutted the ref all over Italy, when this is very clearly shown to be false by the video and testimony of the referee.

Only in Italy.
