There's a point to this, Guardiola and some other top coach I forgot name of both said they dont make the players run in training, its waste of time. That they maintain their energy levels for the game. Train more with ball/gameplay movement instead of running drills. It seems like Italy's training methods involves alot of running mostly, which is a parodox considering they tend to be slower and not as fit as most overseas top teams.

I mean, physical training should never be ignored because they need to maintain their physical shape... but to be running wild every day is dumb.

Glad Montella has picked this up. I think more italian coaches need to watch and learn. In terms of physical training then thats something you can pick up in gym sessions perhaps?

It's sort of like how a 100 meter runner will be training fairly light most of the time I guess. But to be completely honest teams in the Bundesliga are known for making their players run. And in the EPL they tend to lift a lot, though I think it depends on the clubs and the players themselves. For instance Origi was told to bulk up, Lukaku to slim down. And then there's Nainggolan who swears by the Italian training methods and says that's what got him this far.

Inter would sign Real Madrid's Karim Benzema among many others if they made it to the Champions League, say reports.

The Nerazzurri have a tough job ahead of them to balance their books whilst building a strong team capable of challenging for the Scudetto.

Reaching third place and qualifying for next year's Champions League would mean a substantial financial bonus, which would let them move with greater freedom on the transfer market.

The Corriere dello Sport ran an extensive article on Inter's alleged transfer plans should they manage to access the Champions League.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio would reportedly mount an assault for Real Madrid's Benzema to replace the possible departure of Mauro Icardi. Alternative strikers include Ajax's Arkadiusz Milik and Sao Paulo's Jonathan Calleri.

For the wings, Lazio's Antonio Candreva, Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi, Lille's Sofiane Boufal and Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi are all potential targets.

Manchester City's Yaya Toure, Sampdoria's Roberto Soriano, Marseille's Lassana Diarra, and Ajax's Riechedly Bazoer make up the list of names for Inter's midfield. Ever Banega from Sevilla seems a certainty regardless of the Biscione's financial means, as he would be joining as a free agent. The same may be said of Fenerbahce full-back Caner Erkin.

With the departure of one between Miranda, Jeison Murillo and Juan Jesus from the defence, the club will look to Ajax's Joel Veltman, PSV Eindhoven's Jeffrey Bruma, and Schalke 04's Roman Neustadter. Inter are also looking at several full-backs, including Torino's Bruno Peres, Manchester City's Clichy-Zabaleta, Sassuolo's Sime Vrsaljko, Benfica's Jose Semedo, and Paris Saint-Germain's Gregory van der Wiel.

Oh Karim...
I used to LOVE him, still rate him crazy high. Best #9 you could get after Cavani and Mandzo, I'd hate to see him at Inter. I hope he comes here one day.

Will Serie A end up being like the Dutch league? When they can't compete financially and end up being ripped apart every summer by clubs not within the league? Especially with the new TV deal for EPL, players no longer want to stay too long in Serie A , or we can hardly find our league attractive to approach other leagues top players? Most players these days will say EPL or La Liga, and then we still got Bayern and PSG who are more attractive to join due to money and CL chances.

I don't think so. Especially for Argentinians (and to other South Americans) Serie A is always an attractive destination and the best Italian talent for most parts will remain here.

There is plenty of talent coming to Serie A all the time and I don't see that changing.
