Caused a lot of trouble to milan's defence, got fouled often and got an assist, a very nice one. Him an Zieliński were linking up very well but as for me Empoli too often lacked proper presence in attack to build on that.

I'm still not convinced by Saponara, I think I'd take Soriano ahead of him.

The Sicilians have already sacked Beppe Iachini and Davide Ballardini this season, while Guillermo Barros Schelotto was appointed last week, but doesn’t have the necessary permit for Serie A management.

“We have until tonight and there’s still a chance we could register Schelotto. We’re working on it,” director Manuel Gerolin said in a Press conference.

Last week in the 4-0 defeat to Genoa it was Fabio Viviani taking over, but he too could be axed in favour of Primavera youth team Coach Giovanni Bosi.

That would mean that once Schelotto is registered, Palermo will have had five different tacticians on the bench this season.

“If Schelotto can’t make it, then we have Viviani and also Bosi. The latter knows the 4-3-3 system well, which is what we worked on in training this week.

“Tomorrow’s game is certainly important, despite the emergency situation being created with Ballardini’s dismissal.

“The team prepared for this match with three different Coaches, then the choices during the game will be made by whoever is on the bench. We’ll see tomorrow who that is.”

Empoli plays some very nice football. Maybe we could loan them some of our primavera forwards, because they have no-one to play alongside Maccarone. We should make Empoli Sassuolo v.2.
