I'm struggling to think of an obvious next move for him - not that he'd be daft enough to go to Milan.

Isn't a big job for him in Spain or Italy.

Think Ancelotti will be Bayern coach.

Would Man Utd appoint him if things don't go well with Van Gaal in the next few months?
I'd reckon that Guardiola will take over for United next season.

I see these as only options: PSG the boring comfy choice, Man U (they will easily take him, dont think they can get Pep or Lotti), Bayern if Ancelotti links arent confirmed. And lastly a bizzare return to Real...

but why leave bayern in the first place?
he wont find a team with better players + they bought all the players he asked for.
also it seems bayern offered him ≈ €20m a year.

Or he blows it all off and ends up Portugal coach after the Euros...
Thats the last "no one wants me, buhu" option he has. He is too good and young for boring NT appointment. Pointless for him, considering the drive and ambition he has.

We are talking about Mourinho, not Pep.

I have no idea, the notion itself is weird without all the facts. Thats why I'm not taking the Ancelotti to Bayern links serious yet. It doesnt make sense for him to leave when they want him to stay. It would be another matter if they pressured him for not winning CL...

I'd have thought the same about Conte...
Yeah but lets be honest, Conte's options were Milan or wait for Garcia to suck in Roma (in fact I expect him too go to Milan after euros). Neither of things he was keen on. Also NT is HUGE for him career wise, he solidifies his reputation and stature, atleast I think he sees it like that. He had no realistic shot at EPL or the bogus Real Madrid rumours. At best the foreign club that would readily taken him would probably been PSG. But didnt see either of the others as realistic. If he is regretting going to NT, he should regret leaving the biggiest job he could have with us.

Mourinho besides the hugely more successful career, is another matter, attitude wise and the options he has. He is too big of a name for mere NT gig. Only if he is out of lucrative options.

:agree: wherever he is gonna end up - it will be a downgrade compared to bayern.
can't think of any reason that makes sense for him to leave besides what you said.

There are a lot of reports that he has decided to leave at the end of this season, and I think the Bayern board will want to go for Ancelotti too.
but WHY? why would he leave?

Btw bizzarely enough I feel sorry for Real making list for next coach, atleast from the top choices. There will be alot of movement for next season, but no real hope for them in any of the top options. Who the heck can they get? Mourinho and Ancelotti wont go back. Pep or Simeone (will leave Atleti imo) Klopp taken. Wenger? Arsenal til I die motherfucker (rejected Real twice, thankfully for them). Pellegrini again? Nope. Blanc after he loses his job maybe? Underwhelming. Perhaps Emery? Who cares. And also unlikely after Rafa fiasco no not go for top name.

Is that not why there's been a lot of stuff suggesting they'll just give Zidane a go?
Yeah, and feel sorry for them and him when they do.

There is one thing if it was Barca (or even Arsenal or Man U) like setup where every team in academy to reserves and first team all play the same system. It would make it easier for novice coach to take the step up with such foundation. But a club that changes way to play every other year and have players suited for previous coaches (do you realize how hilarious it is to see Rafa Benitez play Ancelotti's possession dominating soft Kroos and Modric as DMs?), add to all of that the insane pressure of the job itself. Likely to be fucking horrible scenario of killing a legends name and continuing to be a circus of failure after tasting ultimate glory just 2 years ago.

Actually, who would hire him ?

Madrid wont take him back, and I dont think anothet EPL team will want to.
