This summer (so far) Roma are in an atypical situation for them, because they didn't need to sell a star player in order to get money for new signings. They got 20m for that Bertolacci guy and are about to get +25m for Romagnoli. Both of them didn't even play for Roma last year.
This allows them to keep their strength intact (midfield of Pjanic, De Rossi, Nainggolan) and strengthen elsewhere. They got a solid keeper for free [Szczesny] and they invest the money where they were super thin, in attack.
Now, if they complete the likely transfers of Dzeko and Salah, they can have a strong, fast, technical and potent attacking trio of Gervinho, Dzeko, Salah. Or if they let Gervinho go, they still have Iturbe and Falque.
The defense is strengthened with the return of Castan. Florenzi will probably keep playing RB, where he did a very good job last season. The LB position is the weakness right now, but I read that they are working on this with some LB from PSG.

Don't forget Strootman who was basically the key player to their impressive run two season ago. I was hoping for their decline, they have to do a typical Roma season soon. They really have to because they have become more boring than DelPiero84.

If both are in top form, Dzeko is the better player. In this situation, I believe that both Juve and Roma are getting the player they need more. If I was a Roma fan, I'd prefer Edin to Mario. He is more technical, better suited for their style, can build understanding with the wingers, and, very important, there is this link with Pjanic. They know each other very well and they can replicate that Dzeko-Misimovic parthership from Dzeko's best days in Germany. Mandzukic, on the other hand, has lo stilo Juve. His work rate, grinta, never say die and such... I can easily picture him in every single Juve team I watched from the 1990's to the present day.

That was their biggest weakness all these yrs as far as I'm concerned.

Lets be honest here, they have a team capable of challenging for the league.

They drew way too many games in the past two seasons as far as I remember and that was due to their inefficiency in front of goal.

Giving an unbiased view here but ofcourse there'll be a couple of people as always mocking at these comments when they see ppl giving credit to rival teams.

I ofcourse hope they fail dramatically but I doubt it imo

They'll keep the pace with us till October/November, then in all likeliness will start to buckle under pressure. Media will try to give them a push, scrutinizing some dubious calls, but once it becomes evident they can't compete with us, again, Totti will come out with statements: Er Sistema, Better to win one tittle with roma than 10 with Juve, et... We've all seen it before.
