What I hate about these is they presuppose that the fate of an entire match is decided at the point of a referee error. Like once that happens, everyone should just head for the locker rooms and the fans should go home: the outcome is predestined.

Yeah, it's over-simplistic stuff.

If you look at the Samp game would they give us a 2-2 draw if Matri's penalty was given? Or would they see that at 2-0 that game is going to end up 2-0 to 4-0?

I really can't stand the excuse of refs. Ref mistakes happen, but the amount of chances we squander every game is the real crime here.
