Garnett Prohibited From Becoming Part-Owner Of AS Roma
Aug 05, 2012 10:54 AM EDT

The NBA blocked Kevin Garnett’s bid to purchase a minority stake in Italian soccer club AS Roma.

Roma is led by Celtics minority owner James Pallotta.

“If you enter into a business agreement with the owner of a team that doesn’t involve playing service, there are potential problems,” a league source said. “Maybe not in this case. But there is a chance of, say, making a contract a lot larger.”

In April, LeBron James obtained a small stake in Liverpool FC, which is owned by Boston-based Fenway Sports Group.

“With LeBron, there is no tie-in whatsoever, so it’s a different deal,” the source said. “It’s like having a business relationship with Nike. We make it simple — you can’t have a business deal with your team, or any other team, because there is the possibility of an underhanded deal there. It’s pretty clear-cut.”

That could be, what I read is that Chinese Railways will build Inter new stadium, but they will be paid for that job like every other company.

Im going to predict that Milan will sign Kaka in the end of august
Yeah, after Galliani repeats 4 more times how it's an impossible deal, and then proclaims it the best transfer of the decade.

Milan might’ve found the alternative to Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, as Caen teen M’Baye Niang visited the club headquarters. “I am really interested.”

The Rossoneri had targeted Yanga-Mbiwa as the reinforcement for a defence that has lost Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta this summer, but Montpellier rejected the €6m offer.

Instead, L’Equipe claims Caen’s 18-year-old Niang has already visited the Milan training ground for a tour on Friday.

“I was so impressed, it’s magnificent,” he said of Milanello.

“I am really interested in Milan.”

The Under-21 France international, who originates from Senegal, has a contract until 2014 and an offer is expected by the end of the day.
