Seems like Napoli are making great strides in the transfer market once again..If they manage to keep Cavani and manage to sign their rumored transfer targets(Cissokho,Jovetic,Melo/Meireles,A quality CB) i could see them possibly displacing one of the Milan sides as the top brass of Serie A.
Especially seeing both Milan sides have been so uninspiring in the market.Dont see ADL giving up on the project so easily and so soon.
The thing is they most likely won't end up with anything like that kind of mercato.

Chivu to renew with Inter.

ADL isn't going to buy Jojo. Doesn't really make sense after getting Vargas, and they can look to improve weaknesses they showed this season in defense.

“I am happy to be back after so many years in an environment that allowed me to have fun,”

“The fans often asked me to return over these 13 years and I’m happy to be here. I hope to give Roma what I could not in my first two years here. Our work aims to bring enjoyment to me, the players and the fans.

“In my football I try to eliminate pointless things, so for me a horizontal pass is futile, as it’s just loaning each other the ball. We must always try to do something that will have meaning.”

“I think it’s only normal that coming out of the Barcelona school, where they focus so much on possession, that means preparing for a long move that takes you to the conclusion.

“I am quicker, in the sense that with possession you also give your opponents time to get settled in defence. It’s much more difficult to break down a defence that is closed rather than catching them unprepared. I also see long-range shots as rather desperate. In my type of football, the striker must receive service.

“We also play the same way, whether home or away. With Pescara this season we scored 45 goals at home and 45 on our travels.”

“There was a misunderstanding. In my view De Rossi is not an Andrea Pirlo-style 'regista,’ as he is more of a central midfielder who can give balance to the side. Of course he can play in all three midfield roles, but that’s a different matter entirely. It depends on where the team needs him the most.

“Totti is the best player I ever worked with. He had talent and showed it off. He changed role, becoming a centre-forward and therefore more susceptible to getting fouled, so the two major injuries have taken their toll. I haven’t spoken to him yet, as he’s in America on his vacation.”

“I’ve been told I’m old-fashioned. The more you work, the better you get, so I’ll bring back the double training sessions.”

Zeman talking about his coaching style. Should be a pretty good influence on some of their young attacking players, lets see if Roma give him competent defenders. I'm tempted to say they'll reach third place next season :D

The man is a genius.

No, wait...he's just stating the bleeding obvious (even though that was beyond the grasp of Enrique).

Di Natale and Handanovic have been absolute decisive key players for several seasons, so that will be major break (though think Handanovic will stay), the former mainly obviously. But the rest they can rebuild with good and opportunistic signings that arent so obvious for most, like they got most of their players. They just a good CM/DM from Flamengo, called Willian, neat player, so already on their way with rebuilding.

How do you rate Zeman's hiring?
I think it's an odd choice for a club who is meant to be looking for a project.

Zeman will be there two years at the very most and probably one.

He'll be more successful a playing while conceding heaps of goals than Enrique was, though, because Zeman actually gets his team attacking, not just shifting the ball pointlessly waiting to be counter-attacked.

He won't do as well as a real coach who plays in a reasonably balanced fashion would, though, in all probability.

Smacks of a populist choice by the Roma board so that the fans won't complain as much when they finish sixth next season as they would under other circumstances.

Still, at least it's another team in Serie A who will be doing something interesting next season.

Even though Udinese have the right coach, I think losing Di Natale would put a nail in this little era. He has had something around 100 goals + assists in the last three seasons, and they won't replace that experience and their captain.
