I really don't get all the uproar here. Rossi assaulted his player a young one at that & has paid the price. Whatever Ljalic said we might never know but there is absolutely no way we can defend Rossi. Sympathise with him yes but condone his actions nope. Reminds me of the Zidane headbutt - I was so mad at Materazzi but deep inside I knew the rules cannot be bent. Zizou paid the price.

Totally agree. I just saw the video of the incident and it is amazing that people can be trying to justify Rossi's actions.

Rossi has no right to physically assault one of his players like that and should face the same criminal charges he would have if the incident had been outside the stadium.

Both player and manager are idiots but im taking the managers side. Imagine the pressure and stress he is constantly under then for a wee prick like that to insult him. He obviously should of waited until later and gave him a proper beating.

I don't think that's the full story. Rossi has had a long coaching career and had to deal with infantile morons all the time. Something was different this time. Otherwise he would have punched out a player his first year of coaching.
definitely, he wouldn't blow a gasket for no reason like that.

@Alen Jovetic, Amauri both injured.

Delio Rossi has only one son, and he worked under Sabatini in Palermo, he is 100% normal.
We thought the same about the father so I wouldn't jump with the numbers like that :p

I know, but my question was why did Rossi replace his only available striker (Ljajic) when Fiorentina were losing 0:2 in the 32nd minute. He didn't have attackers and he replaced the only available one? They practically played without a striker after that.
What was the reason Rossi replaced Ljajic? I'm saying that there could have been some bad blood or an argument before the actual fight.

I'm not balkan and I find it a joke to blame solely Ljalic and not the one who physically assaulted the other, WE DO NOT KNOW what Ljalic said, but being a whiny stuck up brat that makes provoking gesture/comment is nothing new even if ill discplined, but a coach assaulting his own player is a line I never seen a coach cross before.

And its ridicolous how thats being underplayed by some, and I dont mean only this forum, read it elsewhere. Player should be disciplined and dealt with by his club, like any else, but there is a reason Rossi is fired by Viola and 3 months suspended by the league. He physically attacked a player.
Ferguson vs Forlán.

Though it wasn't televised.

If I was in Delio's place and one of my players insults my family or kids I wouldnt react on the field but once we are in the locker-rooms I would break his knees.

Players should know their place and not throw personal insults on their coaches and their age is not an excuse. You're not happy demand a transfer.

That should not happen. You should remain calm, even if you get insulted.
After the game, next time the player see the pitch will be in 2 years. He is young, so you (as a coach) will have the opportunity to ruin his career . That will hurt him much more than those punches.

This way, he is suspended, you are suspended, probably fined too, jobless, and with ruined reputation.

Yes , that's the point it happened in front of the cameras , fights have happened before but they should remain inside the squad . Delio deserved to be punished , after all you never should go into violence , but i also don't think there is the need of bashing him , if he really insulted his family (which still needs to be confirmed) he got angry at that moment lost himself and hit him . If that happened to me i would have probably reacted the same way . Also i don't think that the "he hit a young player" comment stands , for gods sake the guy is 20 years old and earns who knows how many milion per year , 20 is not young (well it is young for italian footballing standarts :D) . If a 20 years old starts fighting with a 60 years old , who do you think will get beaten ? Delio Rossi will.

That said , who the fuck cares what happened to them , we should be concentrating for the next match and let the purple rats go to serie b
