Ranieri: 'Inter, forget Europe'

Claudio Ranieri claims Inter’s Champions League exit is “water under the bridge. We must look at the positives” ahead of their match with Atalanta.
The Nerazzurri beat Olympique Marseille 2-1, but it was an irrelevant result, as they crashed out on away goals this week.
“We seem to pay for every single mistake we make. We’ve got to learn to accept when a year goes like this,” said the Coach in his press conference.
“The Champions League is water under the bridge. We must look at the positives, such as the fact we’ve won our last two games. I consider that an important step to finish off the campaign.
“I know there are many rumours on the future of the club, because that’s how it works in Italy. I go forward and continue my work, determined to do well. I see no clouds on the horizon. I was perplexed by the psychological state of the team when I got here, but they are fantastic lads who train well.
“We’ve got to focus on Atalanta, as they are an excellent side and without the six-point penalty they would be only a point behind us. They also defend very well, so we’ve got to be wary. It’s a crazy season and anything can happen.
“I am thinking of the 4-4-2 system, then we’ll see who actually plays in it.There was no row with Diego Forlan, he was simply upset at not being able to give his best.”
Jose Mourinho even said this week that Ranieri had worked well in difficult circumstances at Inter.
“Hearing that was enormously pleasing,” confessed his old nemesis.
Wesley Sneijder, Ricky Alvarez, Dejan Stankovic and Cristian Chivu are all out of Sunday’s game.
