A direct free kick offence occurs when a player commits any of the following in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:

Kicking or attempting to kick an opponent
Tripping or attempting to trip an opponent
Jumping at an opponent
Charging an opponent
Striking or attempting to strike an opponent
Pushing an opponent
Tackling an opponent

Or commits (one of) the following offences:

Holding an opponent
Spitting at an opponent
Handling the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area).

WTF are you talking about, he didn't kick him neither hold him, he stripped him the ball from behind, watch the replay again and you could see that he didn't hold him.
Watch my screenshot on the previous page. The fact that he did get the ball didn't mean anything when he dragged Pirlo down.

Your argument of him getting the ball goes out of the window.

Cheese - don't be egotistic and stubborn about it brother. He grabbed Pirlo, tripped and pushed him over. Why else did Pirlo go flying throug the air?

I don't think he held him.

I'm not egoistic, and he didn't trip him, he got all ball.
It was soft but Pirlo used his experience.
This i agree with, it was too soft and pirlo flying around was just a matter of experience because he lost the ball.
