Mazzari: "What is certain is that the duel with Juventus adds a pinch of salt as the rivalry between us and Juventus is historically rooted in a kind of social desire for revenge because the Turin club has always been the North and the power."

Not a chance in hell.
I'm still patiently waiting to see Thiago Silva put in a performance half as good as the one Nesta put in against Barca a few weeks ago.

Good news for both Roman teams.
I don't understand your views on Roma.

:D

On a serious note, I think Lazio will win.
Lazio haven't won a derb in quite a while.

Entirely possible that the high turnover of players in the summer will help to overcome that though.

In the last couple of years they were going into derbies with so many negative thoughts and memories that they were practically beaten before the game started.

Also Zamperini claimed that he only got 22M out of the Pastore-deal. The agent took 20m? Whole story sounds odd.
That's why Zamparini is threatening to sue the agent for extortion.

    What do you mean?

Because I think Totti holds them back? Or some other view?

I don't understand your view either on that point, because you've been saying how good he is even when he was a total disaster. Your argument was his goals scored, while same were scored from a PK... he had no assists and he basically banged in most of those against unknown clubs. In other words, when he was not even moving on the pitch you were saying how he's good enough. Baldini and others also claimed he's lazy, rightfully so.

I didn't see so many Roma matches this season, but when I did he was rather useless and did nothing.

Yesterday they were showing extended highlights from Lazio-Roma a few years back where it ended 1-5 (Montella scored 4). That had to have been Nesta's worse ever game. I think he even got subbed off at HT.

It's the way that you seem to like so much of what goes on at Roma, but never miss a chance to put the boot into Totti or De Rossi.

I've watched Roma a couple of times and Totti has been playing fairly indifferently. I don't like the deeper role he's being asked to play and the poor movement from the two strikers has made it very difficult for him to have a big impact on games.

Last season you maintained Totti was terrible and harming Roma, even though he was very good - and sometimes just plain brilliant - under Montella.

Assumption. I never said I like something, I was giving my comments because I'm close to them since my brother follows Roma and we discuss football daily.

When I praise their moves and everything it doesn't have to mean that my pants are wet.

but never miss a chance to put the boot into Totti or De Rossi.
That is because I think Totti is simply poor and has been poor for last 3 seasons. I'm not into bashing, but IMO majority of people who think he's great are fanboys (it's what I heard that goes on their forums as well) simply because they don't want to admit he's pretty much finished. I think this is like 10% of the Totti who played next to Cassano back in the days. He was useful but only because they simply had no better players last season.. players like Borriello are beyond useless. He scores once in a while and the fame surrounds him for the next 5 weeks. But now, especially now when Enrique came, I think he's just a pain for their system. I would play him (not so much) at this point. But as soon as Lamela recovers he'd warm my bench without a doubt. Lamela - Osvaldo - Bojan would be my pick, simply because they are movable and can add much more pace up front. He scores 4 goals in qualifications against Serie D team and people all say he's the best thing since sliced bread. Any good team can stop him without much trouble these days.

As for De Rossi, he was average for the last three seasons and this year he's playing very good, new role suits him. But yes, over the past 3 years he was overrated and nothing else. Pizarro was the key in their midfield and not him.

Can go the other way with someone like Totti, though: people can get so fed up of 'fanboys' that they refuse to recognise when that player is playing well.

    :agree:

That was some performance. I think he's still one of the best in Italy.
