So really, even if in the best case we end up with 36 points, it's not that much better than last season so far, points wise that is. General play and determination is probably a different story.

Remember DN had a 17 match unbeaten streak. Many draws in there, but then again we've drawn 6 from 14 so far, not really that spectacular.

If we can get to Feb and still be playing well ontop of the table, then we may have good reason to get excited about this season.

There's still every chance we could remain permanently frozen after the winter break as with last season.

I can't remember what it was like in the 1st half last year, but this year we will play these teams away from home in the 1st half:

Lazio
Napoli
Inter
Udinese
Roma

And we haven't lost any of those games. Udinese yet to see of course.

36 points from 16 games linebreak, as opposed to 31 from 17 last season. If we were to win the 17'th fixture as well, then that would imply 39 points from 17 games, an incredible +8 point differential. I am personally projecting 43 points by the end of round 19.

We've had a much harder run of games this season compared to last season.

Also our general play has been much more impressive.

Not just compared to last year, but we're having a better start than in any other post-Calciopoli season in Serie A. That's after 14 matches.

2011/2012 8-6-0 (25:11) 30 points
2010/2011 6-6-2 (26:14) 24 points
2009/2010 8-3-3 (26:15) 27 points
2008/2009 8-3-3 (21:09) 27 points
2007/2008 7-5-2 (29:13) 26 points

Still, if the past seasons taught us anything, it's January and February that decide our season, no matter how we do until New Year.
