I'll concede that Nesta was more consistent and talented. But Canna was more crucial and decisive in his teams' successes than Nesta was, IMO. Canna had lower lows, but higher highs than Nesta, i.e. at their primes, I rate Cannavaro higher.

By higher highs I can't help but feel you're referring to '06 WC and 05/06 Serie A. Nesta was a fucking instititution of defence man! Not as televised, perhaps, but still better!

Overall Nesta was better but he was never better than Cannavaro in 2006 and in particular the WC.
