Marcelo Salas was a flop of the flops. We paid 25 billion lira (~13m euro) +Darko Kovacevic and Salas scored only 2 goals on 18 matches.
That was indeed the worst flop by far.
Considering our needs and our investment.
The rest were just some calculated risks we could afford to take, with minimal impact. But the Salas transfer was just stupid...

Mourinho:

"Right now we are inferior to Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United.
I am convinced that if we had reached the Champions League semi-finals or even the Final, we would not have won the Scudetto."

"I do not sell fairytales to people and at the start of the season I said we did not have the potential to challenge for the top European competition."

"Inter, like Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Porto, are among those sides that need to improve to reach the very highest level in that tournament."

“The most likely thing is that he (Quaresma) will return to us, but he will certainly have to turn up with a different mentality so he can perform the way he failed to in his first few months with the Nerazzurri.”

"There are those who think I want to leave Inter, but that is simply not true."

"It’s true I want to do the grand slam of three different League titles. I have won in England and Italy, I’d like to do it in Spain. That is an objective of my career, but I have many years in which to do it."

Actually Vieira had just passed his peak when he came to Juve. It was as if he came here to wind down like he was Batistuta in Al Arabi.

Emerson was by far the more useful player for Juve, even though he had his best days in Rome.

Yeah i do agree with that, but i remember thinking from the very first day when we signed Vieira that it was a wrong move. For that price we could have gone for a young promising player to play alongside emerson.

But i can understand the board's move to vieira at the time (though i don't agree with it). We allready had a WC squad so all what needed is some quality experienced players to fill the gaps that we had perhaps that what they thought.
