there is absolutely no way Milan to be paying less than 150m eur on wages per year.
That's an interesting summary. Your calculations are obviously right, I didn't remember which paper wrote it, Gazzetta probably, but it was 115m:120m:120m for sure and I remember also last years reports, when the difference between us and milanese clubs was much bigger. Apparently some journalist was lying or didn't count something.

but you have to understand that this is fixable. Italian football needs to inject money into the sport to resurrect itself. This inlcudes the clubs and the the governing body. if they want to keep players from exporting then lets make this thing right.

Jose takes the game to Juve

Friday 17 April, 2009

Inter boss Jose Mourinho refuses to take the Scudetto for granted and has set his sights on three points from the Derby d'Italia.

The Nerazzurri are 10 points clear of Juve as they prepare to travel to Turin to face the second-placed side.

But Mourinho isn't joining the chorus of voices stating that the title is already decided.

“I want to beat Juve even though we would be fine if it were a draw,” Mourinho told journalists.

“In order to celebrate the Scudetto we need to wait until it is mathematically certain. The best team wins the title in the end - it's not down to incidents or flukes.

“But we have dropped 10 points at home with five draws and so we have made our mistakes just as our rivals have.

“However, we have more points than anyone else at the moment because we have been stronger.

“I am completely ready for a hostile reception in Turin. Juve have four great strikers - David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero, Vincenzo Iaquinta and Amauri.”

Mourinho then discussed the Beneamata's failure to secure European honours this term.

“What do Inter need to do to improve in Europe? I am the only foreign Coach in Italy and I have learned that every positive thing I say is taken to be negative,” Jose said.

“This isn't my war. But I don't think the English and Spanish Leagues are stronger than Serie A.

“There are three or four very strong teams, but the big difference is the other sides - the Italian championship is more balanced.”

The Inter tactician expects to be working with Zlatan Ibrahimovic again next season despite transfer rumours.

“There isn't a huge offer - it's all hypothetical,” he explained.

“A bid of £40m, £50m or £60m would be rejected and I don't expect anyone to offer £100m. I expect him to be here next year.”

Young defender Davide Santon is making headlines and could be an Azzurri star of the future.

“He has become a regular starter for us,” Mourinho noted. “He could become a talisman like Giacinto Facchetti, Beppe Bergomi or Javier Zanetti.”

Mourinho concluded by discussing strikers Mario Balotelli and Adriano.

“Balotelli is at the start of his development,” he stressed. “I'm not satisfied with him yet, but I am when I consider that he is just 18.

“I would want him to get better over the next four years. He is far from the finished product, even though he has learned to acquit himself in training.

“As for Adriano, before his ban he was scoring for Brazil and for us. He was an important player and he was happy.

“However, he is psychologically fragile and his suspension stopped him in his tracks. But in a career a player must overcome difficult times.”

Ancelotti's Chelsea confession

Saturday 18 April, 2009

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he “would like” to lead Chelsea and “won’t stay at Milan indefinitely. Sooner or later this story has to end.”

The Coach has always stated he has no intention of quitting the Rossoneri even though his contract, which expires in 2010, has not yet been renewed.

However, he was a little more open when answering questions posed by children at the Milanello training ground event.

“I will not go to Chelsea, even if I won’t stay at Milan indefinitely,” said Ancelotti when asked if he’d work at Stamford Bridge.

“Sooner or later this story has to end. Chelsea are a great club and I cannot say I wouldn’t like it.”

These comments fuel speculation that Roman Abramovich has offered the job to Ancelotti when Guus Hiddink returns to Russia and that the tactician is giving it serious consideration.

Milan have hinted they will fire him if he doesn’t at least finish in the top three, but going into this weekend they are only two points adrift of Juventus in second place.

Paolo Maldini added more evidence that Ancelotti is not entirely sure what to do with his future.

“Every day I ask the Coach if he’s staying and he always tells me to ask him again tomorrow.”

Investigation into Balotelli chants Sunday 19 April, 2009

A police investigation has been launched into racist chanting towards Mario Balotelli during last night's Derby d'Italia.

The Inter striker was repeatedly the target of racist chants from the Juventus fans at the Stadio Olimpico in the 1-1 draw.

The Turin police have now begun an investigation into the incidents and are viewing CCTV video inside the stadium to identify those responsible in the Curva Sud.

Balotelli himself replied to the racists when asked about the insults on RAI television. “I am more Italian than the whole Juventus curva.

The 18-year-old was born from Ghanaian parents, but adopted by the Italian Balotelli family when he was two.

He is an Italian international at Under-21 level, although he was unable to make his debut until turning 18 due to a red tape issue over his adoption and problems gaining an Italian passport.

Balotelli has been bitterly criticised by several opponents, including Juve's Nicola Legrottaglie, over his tendency to “provoke” players and argue with the referee.

The lad's behaviour might be a bit provocational, but that cannot justify racist chanting,” said Gianluigi "no. 88" Buffon.

The great thing about Balotelli is his youth, but the bad thing is the personality that still has a long way to go. He is a good boy, but to become a champion he needs to mature.
