yea I think he has been "offended" by some of the players that were asking for pay rises and such...
At the end of the day it'd be stupid not to give a raise to deserving players... lets say Adebayor get 1m and Bent gets 3m... if Ade asks for a raise he deserves it... to be offended and letting him go would be a stupid decision... to replace him with a bloke called bendtner would be catastrophy...

I am not against Wenger... just that off late he has been really arrogant... his team needs some experience which he can only get if he is willing to splash the cash which his club is giving him... you can't keep building a team year after year after one player after the other leaves the club...

If he were to come to Juve, he'd take at least a few years to build a team and then win something in 5 yrs or so... I'd rather have Ranieri and win something next year than wait for 6 yrs for the next trophy... Actually I have high hopes regarding the CL this yr, if we get a bit of luck on our side... Serie A, not much, considering that its not necessarily in our hands and we want Inter to slip at least twice...

True.

He certainly was.

Some of his more recent decisions have been odd, though. Most notably the continual selling of players without properly replacing them.
Our board have been too tolerant with him. in another club where he is kept on his feet, he would most probably not do that.

You do know he won us the double in his second season as manager don't you, at a period of Man td dominance may i add. It was virtually unthinkable at the time for a team to doimnate Man Utd so much.

I loved that Arsenal team from 1997 to 2004. Was even a fan back then. That team was absolutely fanatastic and it had several of my favourite players like Pires, Kanu, Henry, Bergkamp, Overmars, Vieira etc.. Plus they were the only EPL club able to break the Man Utd domination in those years and their season without one single defeat was mindblowing. Arsenal of today is only a shadow of that team.

I do Fred.. there's no denying his capabilities as a manager... just that these days I feel his team tries to play the perfect football and will end up winning nothing... I understand he is rebuilding the team now, but he's not doing a great job at it... He won the EPL four yrs back and i dont think his team will win it in the next couple of yrs either...

Maybe a change of environment might do him good but if he persists on buying and playing youngsters without enough experienced personnel in the team, then let it be Juve or Arsenal, we'll have to wait till that team matures to see some silverware... Maybe I exaggerated the 5 yrs, but I stand by my statement...

2009-10 season dates revealed
Tuesday 23 December, 2008
The Lega Calcio has announced the dates for the 2009-10 season and the Super Cup will be played outside Italy for the fourth time.

As expected, the Serie A campaign will start one week earlier than usual on August 23 and will conclude on May 16.

This measure has been undertaken in order to give Marcello Lippi more time to get his Italy squad ready for the 2010 World Cup.

The winter break will be shortened as the teams will return to action on January 6, but there will be just three mid-week rounds.

The Italian Super Cup on August 8 will be played in Beijing, exactly a year after the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games.

It will be the fourth time the fixture has taken place outside the peninsula - it was held in New York in 2003, Tripoli in 2002 and Washington DC in 1993.

The Coppa Italia will begin on August 2 with Lega Pro sides. Serie B outfits will enter on August 9.
