They play very strong defense, starting from opponents part of the field. They usually play with 3 defensive midfielders and it's very hard to pass their midfield.
Teams will have the same problems against us.
But the difference is that teams will play on the wings against us because we leave tons of spaces there and our full backs are pretty bad.
Inter don't have this problem because Maicon and Maxwell close everything. That's why it looks as if there are no problems for them in CB. It's because the Cbs hardly have anything to do.
If we bought two top quality full backs we'd have been just as strong defenisively and just as strong (or stronger) attacking wise.

But the system won't change, Jack. Cambiasso will replace Stankovic in this line up, not Figo.
Mourinho will keep playing 4-3-2-1, with Zanetti-Cambiasso-Muntari in midfield, Figo/Ballotelli (maybe Quaresma) - Mancini on the wings and one striker.
As you can see, it's a hard working midfield. Unbreakable midfield. The only way to beat this is to play on the wings but Maicon and Maxwell do a good job there.
This is your typical serie A winning team. Team that plays without the so highly rated creative midfielder but relies on strong defense all over the pitch and very strong attack.
