The season so far has been quite generous to us, despite our crisis, we are only one "derby" behind Inter.
(there was little we could considering the overall gap of quality and esp our incompetent defense)
We ought to be happy with that result and hope that Milan and Roma will keep facing the problems they do, long enough to help us keep leading them.
There is little we can do against Inter, this Inter has what it takes to follow the lead of the old Juve, but since there i no such a team around, there is no such a need either. Jose will most likely focus their power on exceeding the expectations on the CL.
Our true opponents are well cornered and we must be careful to consolidate our position, since this opportunity has arisen!
Not only for our own good, but also for the good of the Italian championship.
Since our relegation the standards in this league have really go down
and this will affect us in the future one way or another!
A competitive league will force us to become better if we want to keep up with them and have less tolerance to quick fixes and mediocre material...
There is too little Roma can do, without their leader both of and on heir field and the necessary funds to improve them selves, they are bound to pay for some older "sins". Hopefully they will rank as much worse as possible, so we can take advantage of their collapse this summer and sign some of their players, or even their coach!
Milan is a real threat, but hopefully the injuries will keep crippling them and their over-confidence and ambition beyond any reach will make them pay, one more year!! As long as they dont buy any decent defenders or forwards and they keep wasting their money o further boost their midfield with big names, like Bechkam, i see no real threat from them either, despite having the resources to plant a serious counter-attack and overwhelm us!
Our worst enemy is our bad self now, we have the opportunity to rank up second and keep pushing Inter until they fail again in the CL.
Our returning aces, might help us go further in the Italian cup and we might actually have a realistic target to win a title and a silver star in 2009!
As long as, our core players: Molinaro,Legro,Grygera,Marchionni and Poulsen keep trying that hard and support our older champions, allowing them to make the difference, there is only one thing that scares me the most.
CR!! Hopefully he will not keep instisting of using two DMs, as long as two or 3 will become available, at every single match regardless of the situation and opponent, leading us into a new crisis!

The season has not been generous to us at all. If we didn't have the injured stars, most notably Camo and Buffon, if we didn't have at least 7 injured players all the time, we would've had more pts and maybe we wouldn't have lost the derby (where Manninger's mistake was decissive).
We're not lucky to be 2nd, we're unlucky not to be 1st.

Congratulations to our directors for smartly investing in depth because if we didn't have that and we splashed the money on one player, we'd have been Uefa cup battlers today, with all those injuries that hit us.
Our directors proved to be smarter than all members here and one step ahead of all the others. They created a respectable team.

Reply to Cronios' post about Inter, start with few sentences about our injuries and then continue about mercato.......... " If you really think that our mercato wasn't good then what about Inter's? They invested a looot of money in 3 star players but two of the superstars are such flops that Inter will probably sell them soon. Quaresma is awful and i doubt someone will be interested to buy him, while they might sell Mancini because i hear that Real are interested and they are ready to offer 10m eur...."
