Ex-Inter legend Luis Suarez has revealed that Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was on the brink of joining the Nerazzurri.
These days, the idea of Inter signing the Portuguese ace is fantasy football due to his vast wage demands.
However, when Ronaldo was still a rising star, the Beneamata nearly lured him to San Siro with Suarez's help.
“He was 17-years-old and a Spanish friend called me to tell me that there was a player in Sporting Lisbon's youth side who was a League above,” Suarez told Spanish newspaper AS.
“After watching just one game I could see that he was right and I saw that things would have to be done quickly.
“I went to Ronaldo's house in Lisbon. We didn't talk about money but I'm sure that £1m or so would've been enough to sign him.
“However, there was nothing that we could do because Sporting reached an agreement with Manchester United,” he said.
Suarez had three spells on the Inter bench and continued to aid the club after his latest stint in 1995.

Who the hell cares? Can't understand such stupid media articles
Agree, but there are other much more complicated things in Georgian which doesn't allow you for ex. to use the words with the same logic for each sentence
How stupid can they be? Why do they think they were robbed when with that penalty they would only maybe (they could have missed the penalty too) tie the result to 1-1? Game could have ended 1-1 and we would still have had 1 point of advantage infront of Inter. They are all just bitter losers and chokers, and not very bright too.

"We were robbed of the chance to fight for the scudetto till the end" would be much more appropriate but that's not as good excuse for not winning a scudetto for almost 20 years as "we were robbed of the scudetto" is.

Plus they've sucked in europe even though they had the biggest stars in their team. We've reached 3 champions league finals in a row winning 1 of them. Losers will always be losers no matter what. Those fuckers should realize that by now......
