Real plan Ibra swoop
Friday 11 May, 2007
Real Madrid are ready to make a bid to land Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports in Italy on Friday.
The Merengues are looking to strengthen their squad and boss Fabio Capello has told them to net his former Juventus pupil.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Coach has specifically asked the capital outfit’s management to make a move for the Nerazzurri forward whom he continues to liken to Marco Van Basten.
Real are rumoured to be ready to hand the former Ajax sensation a healthy contract worth a massive £5.7m a season.
The international may be tempted by such an offer given that he has allegedly asked his agent, Mino Raiola, to contact Inter about a possible increase to his £4m annual wage.
Such a request, given that Ibra is already one of the highest paid players in the squad, may cause friction in the changing rooms.
However, owner Massimo Moratti has acknowledged his request and has scheduled a meeting to discuss the player’s needs.
Real Madrid, who might include Antonio Cassano in the deal, are also reportedly interested in Brazilian international Adriano.
