Inter Land Trophy As Totti Unsure Of Roma Future

The Nerazzurri won their second silverware in the Moratti era.
A goal by Sinisa Mihajlovic at the start of the second half was all Inter needed to conquer their 4th Coppa Italia, the first since 1982. This will also be remembered as the second trophy Inter won during the Moratti era, with the first being the 1997/98 Uefa Cup trophy when the Nerazzurri defeated Lazio 3-0 in the final. This time round Inter beat Roma with a 3-0 aggregate result thanks to Adriano’s brace from the first leg to raise the Italian cup to the sky.
Apart from the initial 5 minutes, this second leg had no story as Roma looked like they had given up hope on the trophy almost from the start as the attack line was sterile against an old defensive line.
Then after 6 minutes into the second half Mihajlovic definitely closed the encounter with one of his trademark free kicks which secured the win for Inter. To make things worse for Roma, Cufre received his second yellow card of the match in the 65th minute to leave the Giallorossi in 10 men with 25 minutes to go.
Luckily for the Roman team not much happened after that and Inter went on to celebrate its deserved Coppa Italia win.
During the celebrations a disappointed Francesco Totti made some surprising comments to a RAI journalist who wanted to ask him some questions about the game. Apparently the Giallorossi’s captain told him he did not want to talk about the match especially since he was still unsure whether he would still be a Roma player next season despite signing a 5 year contract recently.
