I was in the city for a Halloween party at a friend's place and stayed in a nice Marriott hotel. Went to have a few drinks at the bar and there was a huge Bar Mitzvah party going on. Went to the lobby bathroom and there were like 20 kids screwing around in there throwing toilet paper and completely wrecking the place. I reported it to the hotel staff and then left. I assume nothing happened to those little monsters.

These are the most entitled pieces of garbage on the planet. I have no sympathy for them at all. There is something deeply wrong with their culture.
LOL this is the most retarded thing I read in here in years .
Wow the kids , doing stupid things . But they are jew kids so all jews are entitled pieces of garbage.
Did you ever see American kids, for example doing stupid thing . If yes , by your logic , all Americans are entitled pieces of garbage .
As of now , bro just admit it , your a closet racist , against jews .
And , you assumed, lol?
Based on your assumption , logically , I assume , you are a racist.

Very possible that Ajax will have their win changed to a 0:3 defeat and get slapped with stadium sanctions and heavy fines.

Might as well award this season’s UCL trophy to Maccabi.
it would be the first non european club to win a european title :touched:

let's ask ourselves why are they even participating in european competitions. let them bless afc competitions based on common sense and geography

With dust a bit settling, I think this is what happened in broad lines, but keep in mind this is my interpretation based on videos, interviews, a friend who works in the heart of Amsterdam, etc:

Around 2400 Maccabi fans came to visit the game. Many would travel with public transport to their hotels. Obviously people knew, so there are some interviews where people said that upon arrival in downtown Amsterdam, Israelis got already intimidated and stuff.

A group of Maccabi fans gathered at the Dam square, stealing at least two flags and causing problems with a taxi driver. What exactly happened isn’t clear, but it’s clear that they were vocal there (literally vocal with the songs and stuff, probably people here saw that as provocation). More or less in line with something you often see with away fans, but sensitive in a geopolitical context. A Palestine flag probably got burned there. This is the moment where things probably got a bit bigger.

Group of Maccabi hooligans got escorted by the police to the stadium.

Before the match there were ~50 arrests made by the police, it’s unclear to me wether it were Israeli’s or Dutch people.

Police miscalculated the situation, thinking that because there are friendly relationship between Maccabi and Ajax fans, there wouldn’t be big problems. Most of the police were around in the area of the stadium. So the quantity of police should’ve been enough, but al focussed on the wrong area

After the match, the same hooligans got escorted by the police, but it wasn’t a lot of police. It’s clear that they were looking for problems aswel. I think it was in this exact moment, where scooters went around the city with angry (mostly) Moroccan dudes, and where people got attacked who weren’t necessarily hooligans. I think the area where all of this happened was quite big. There’s have been some screenshots of taxi drivers going around, where you see some level of coordination. Also taxi drivers should’ve been in the vicinity of these hooligans after the match.

Also interesting, I read that no arrests were made during the night, which says something about police activity in the city.

So trying to paint a neutral picture, it isn’t clear to me wether the Maccabi hooligans reacted to initial problems that arose upon arrival of Israeli’s, or if they came with the idea of causing a riot.

All the above caused a lot of anxiousness within the Jewish community, who went out and evacuated people to their hotels, homes of relatives, safe houses and stuff.

It was the Kristallnacht commemoration, with brought a extra layer of sensitivity. For context around 75% of the Jews in The Netherlands got killed during WW2, highest per capita in the world. Some might say it isn’t relevant now, but I just wanted to bring it to understand the sentiment around everything a bit better.

The only finger we should point is to the police if you ask me. The situation is what it is, we have angry people here and a nasty situation in the Middle-East, they should’ve been prepared a lot better. Either way agree- or disagree with the pro-Palestine people, a situation where relatively young guys go around the city to control peoples passports is never good, it’s a wonder nobody has been killed. If it was a direct confrontation without the controlling of passports, things might’ve been a bit less tense, now it became something which you just don’t see that often, unlike a direct fight between hooligans which happens af few times per year.

Maccabi fans in the stadium misbehaved during the minute of silence for the victims in Valencia.

Also the time frame of all the incidents was quite long, the head of the police talked about ~36 hours, so I reckon a lot happened.

There are some interviews by Israelis who claim that mobs went as far as entering hotels, I’ve seen one video that might prove that.

Again: not reporting any formal investigations, this is my idea based on the news. Sentiment in media very defensive for the Israeli’s, reality is way more nuanced, but it’s safe to say the situation was quite tense, and the mobs used more violence than the Maccabi hooligans.

My opinion is that the mayor should resign.

Oh and just read that last night, even if most (if not all) Israeli's returned, controlling of passports continued.
