Very first time that I’ve seen him caring about something other than himself.
that's the most shocking element

just do something good for humanity, donakd. cut the aid from israel, give everything to ukraine and let them man handle russia. the world would be a much safer place within a year.

I loathe him, but I genuinely do give him credit here. This might be the first time I've liked something that he has said.
same here. trump is a piece of shit and i despise him as much as i ever despised an active politician, but that was some genuine disgust with israel finally. maybe too little too late, it's still something.

At least he's pissed at Israel as well, that is progress.
I wouldn't get my hopes up but I do wonder if Trump got duped into this. Netanyahu told him it would be quick, over immediately and he would get credit for either eliminating Iran's nuclear program or maybe he would get credit for bringing an end to the conflict and get the Nobel prize.

Meanwhile Netanyahu all along had hopes this would spiral into a full war between US and Iran once Iran retaliated :boh: Otherwise I don't understand what the point of any of this was

The damage that Israel inflicted on Iran was enormous. They obliterated Iran’s air defense system and killed a few key people. Moreover, they established fear among IRGC rank and file. Right before ceasefire they killed a mid level nuclear guy in his dad’s home in the tiny town of Astaneh. They showed the Iranian intelligence that they’re completely overmatched. This is a remarkable return for a 12 day campaign.
But they also might’ve strengthened Iran’s resolve for a nuke. Or maybe the cost of rebuilding a defense system in the middle of crippling sanctions would be too much for Khamenei and he decides to give in. At any rate I think they MOSTLY got what they wanted, but didn’t or couldn’t finish the job.

I genuinely think he did not want to attack Iran, he wanted to make a deal. I think he was serious about the talks they were having. Then Israel forces his hand and he chickens out.
The Abraham accords were his crowning glory from his first term. You just need to see him talk about it to know how much he loved that deal. He badly wants to be known as the guy who brought peace to the Middle East. No way Bibi’s letting that happen though.

That's on him then.
