Im looking to connect my iPod to my car stereo through the auxilary jack in the rear of the stereo. I have an actual MP3 jack in the front display but Ive heard the sound is cleaner if you do it from the back.(haha shut up) Can anyone recommend a specific brand of cable?

Im looking to used this mother but am open to any suggestions.

if you want you can just buy an adapter that is plugged into the cigarette lighter thing. Then you just set a frequency. Might be easier for you

The best thing to do is the cord because I used those FM transmitters like two years ago and they are not reliable plus the music is really static-y at times especially in big cities you can't hear the music if you don't have any free channels. My sisters uses the auxilary cord but she just picked up one from Best Buy nothing special. So I don't know any of the brands. It works well and has clear sound.

Word, I should try to do that too, Eazy.

Think I could do it in my car?
Yeah you should have an auxilary joint in the back of the stereo.

I know I could do that. Then you get interference and a sound that just isn't top.

Well, if you're looking for top sound, I wouldn't exactly be playing MP3s. :D

(I swear, all the BMW and other cars are touting mp3 players like it's "high tech" when the sound quality on them is two steps backwards from the status quo...)

Isn't it purely a question of bitrate though?

Yeah, but the highest quality mp3 can go up to 320kbps which is still 3-4 times lower than a regular CD. Bitrate means a lot.

A spectral view shows the difference between CD wav and mp3 perfectly. When you compress to mp3 you loose a lot, though some folks may not hear the difference, on a good system the difference is more than noticeable.

    Uncompressed wav

    Compressed to .mp3 (128kbps)

So mp3 is too lossy? What are you, a flacman? :D

Duh, but if I had enough money to buy CD's of all the MP3s I've "aquired" I wouldn't be posting on this forum. Id own it.
