Really? They aren't that bad lol. I guess it might come down to when you started watching football.

Fernando Torres was absolutely world class at Liverpool, particularly in his first season. His peak might not have been the longest, but its not as though he was a one season wonder. And aside from that he had a few iconic moments after his decline, such as his last minute goal vs Barca.

That's just me though.

I've never watched him play much so I was just curious, and never at Liverpool. Maybe 8/18 seasons? From what I have seen though, certainly not close to someone that should be in a list for consideration for best of all time. That's not just a short peak, that's a drop off of a 90 degree cliff.

This 100%

From 1980s-2006 is unmatched. Too many legends, so much more parity in the game, and world cups were just incredible. From Platini and Maradona and Van Basten through Baggio, Romario, Zidane, Ronaldo, Del Piero, Batistuta to Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Trezeguet, Nedved… it was just above and beyond. And that’s not even getting into more of the mids and the defenders of the era.

Honestly it's just what you grow up with. All generations have their star players. But they make a more lasting impact on you when you're 5-15.
