I am not sure this is right. You should take into account the total number of participants in the sport and the relative number of cases.

The niece of my wife is married to a cardiologist, and she is basically in charge of the devices they use there.

What I was told is that heart problems post-career are pretty common. Most ex-footballers do regular check ups.

Not sure how it is in respect to other sports. But is isn’t good for your heart, that for sure.

It is very intensive sport, that's for sure. This will reignite the debate about the number of games football players are expected to play every season.

Absolutely awful.

One thing that hopefully will make a difference is that physios and medics will be more prepared and aware to deal with these type of situations than a few years ago. Surely there is a defibrillator at the stadium.

Hope the medics on the field took the right decision as it's literally his life on stake here...

This is bad, the stadium has to have an ambulance nearby, they gave him a CPR like 10 mins after he collapsed, I hope they made the right call, by the way he looked from that camera shot a minute after the fall it was clear that he has to be in ER with like 10 doctors and nurses around him...

I hope it only looked terrible and awful and they managed to keep him alive, but to me it looked really, really bad...

Hope he pulls through, tragic thing to happen at the best of times let alone for the world to see.

Everyone on social media screaming for the tournament to be scrapped needs a fucking slap though. As if a pro footballer would want that.
