Heart attack, can happen to anyone, even fit athletes who are regularly tested for conditions.
I don't doubt that pro footie can result in a heart attack and it's definitely a higher risk setting for things like these, just seems surreal (from a completely uninformed opinion) that it can happen without any prior symptoms, if so that's a pretty fucked up situation.

F.e. the health consultant at Fiorentina was convicted in the Astori case, as his tests had demonstrated irregularities in the past that they decided to overlook.

Most probably was it an acute heart failure.

I wonder if he wil able to continue playing football after this. The other footballer muamba had to retire because of a similar incident.

Deserved by Finland. And that includes before the Eriksen incident. Nothing about Denmark impressed me in this match. Though I can’t imagine trying to play through all that afterwards.

Are heart failures more common in football than in regular life? Or does it appear that way because when ever it happens it becomes a story? There are around 2000 players in just the top 5 leagues in Europe any given year.

Players health not being monitored properly is somewhat understandable in the lower echelons and youth footie, but it's always shocking to see cases like this in the very elite level of the sport. How is it possible that neither at the club level, nor the national team level no one detected this? Is it really possible that his heart went from perfectly healthy to disfunctional just like that, with no prior symptoms?
Happens more often than you think

Nah. Can’t count the number of obese 30 year olds who went fins-up in the tank while unwrapping a cheeseburger.
