Brazil (and I think Barca will end up trying this too) is trying to make Neymar into something I don't think he is. He's not a #10. He's much better out wide.
When he first gets on the ball he immediately thinks about who to dribble first instead of where to pass. It's so rare to see a one touch pass from him, he has to always control the ball. You can't lead your team from the middle of the pitch when your brain isn't as quick as your feet. There's too much congestion for you to take a touch, look up, dribble a man, pick a pass.
He started today in the middle it seems and before the half even ended he was back on the LW.
I'm sure him and Messi will have quite a few good stretches in the open La Liga where they just slalom players but I'm really excited to see them in the CL. I have a feeling that it could end up a mess.
