Mirko Vucnic continued his hot streak of form by scoring in the 2-2 draw between Montenegro and Poland past night. The 28-year-old, who already has two goals to his name this season, found the target in first-half stoppage time to give his side the lead in the World Cup qualifier. The visitors, however, salvaged a point with an equaliser ten minutes after the break.
Elsewhere, Cesare Prandelli named seven Bianconeri in his starting line-up for Italy's clash with Bulgaria in Sofia: Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci, Giaccherini, Marchisio, Pirlo, Giovinco. Only Giaccherini, replaced with just over 25 minutes remaining, and Giovinco, substituted ten minutes later, did not figure for the entire game, in which Osvaldo’s double sealed a 2-2 draw for the Azzurri.
Stephan Lichtsteiner played the full 90 minutes in Switzerland’s 2-0 win in Slovenia.
Paul Pogba was part of the French Under-20 side that drew their first Four Nations Tournament encounter, a goalless shutout with hosts China.
